THOUSANDHOURS – THE TAPE REMASTERED

At the start BLIND combined spoken words/poems and sound(scapes) carrying the name “DEPROFUNDUS”.

While recording “THOUSANDHOURS” the name BLIND was born.

THE TAPE REMASTERED

“The title “THOUSANDHOURS” reflects the fact that it took 1000 hours to create all tracks and define the BLIND style. “

REMASTERED

The source (the original recordings) was done on a “SONY Metal-ES 60” cassette. Amazing fact that after 37 years the cassette still works well, the sound quality is recognizable for a tape – the low sounds muddy and the high isn’t clear, but a metal tape had (has) almost no tape noise.

Fun fact: we made several copies by linking 2 cassette deck players and use the metal master as source. Each copy took 1 hour…. plus cutting out the inlay,

THOUSANDHOURS cassette inlay (the other side holds all lyrics and release info.

The remastering itself is done, after recording the source int a DAW, with some WEISS plug ins:
– WEISS Exciter
– WEISS DS5
– WEISS MM-1
Added some atmosphere using:
– Lexicon 224
– EP-34 Tape Echo
